South Korean authorities suspect that a possible collision with a bird may have affected the aircraft's landing gear deployment and braking mechanisms.
South Korean authorities announced on Monday that 140 of the 179 fatalities of the tragic plane crash that occurred this Sunday at Muan International Airport have been identified.
“Once we are ready to transfer the bodies after the autopsies carried out by the research agencies, we will contact the families,” Telesur quoted statements issued by officials.
On board the 7C2216, 181 people were traveling: six crew members and 175 passengers, most of them South Koreans, including families returning from vacation, in addition to two Thai citizens.
