The most recent national measurement carried out by the pollster Dataviva, between September 1 and 15, reveals that 89% of the country's inhabitants consider that Venezuela is a sovereign country that cannot be threatened by any foreign power.

In this regard, only 11% expressed disagreement with this statement, confirming that the defense of sovereignty constitutes a meeting point between the majority of the population.

When asked about the causes of US aggression, 88.9% of those surveyed believed that this is an attempt by Trump to promote regime change and overthrow the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro. In contrast, only 11.1% interpreted these actions as a “legitimate effort” against drug trafficking.

In addition, in the survey released by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV) on its website, the majority of those interviewed also expressed a willingness to defend the country against possible foreign aggression: 77% said they would be willing to assume that responsibility, while 23% did not show that same willingness or avoided speaking out.

The interest in Venezuelan oil emerges strongly as the background of these threats from the United States, and that is why nine out of ten interviewees (91%) argue that this natural resource is the real cause behind the measures promoted by the Trump administration.

The survey also reflects an evolution of the affinity with President Maduro, which went from 64% in August to 70% in September, registering a six-point growth attributed to his management of the conflict in the face of threats from the United States. Meanwhile, the extreme right opposition member, María Corina Machado, registered a 92% rejection, while, at the international level, Donald Trump reaches a level of disapproval of 97% among the Venezuelans consulted.
