On November 20, the registration of teachers for the system of paying for preferential tickets in the public land transport system will begin, the Minister of Transportation, Ramón Velásquez Araguayán, announced this Wednesday.

The benefit, which will begin in Greater Caracas and then across the country, provides a 50 percent discount on the service.

“This is a plan that will be extended to the entire country - because President Nicolás Maduro ordered the creation of the national Metrobús - so that all our teachers can get around using their card with half a ticket,” said the head of Transportation during an event with the ministers of Education, Héctor Rodríguez; of Housing and Habitat, Raúl Paredes; and of National Trade, Luis Villegas; and the Deputy Minister for the Communalization of Science for Production, Danmarys Hernández.

Velásquez highlighted, according to a press release from the Education portfolio, that the national Metrobus routes will be directed to schools, hospitals, “to the sensitive areas of our working talent, so that it will be easier for them to take a suburban route that will pass through the school, through the university.”

Velásquez Araguayán also stressed that a commission was appointed to implement teachers' recreational plans, which will take place every weekend and will have the fleet of buses arranged by the Head of State. “Here we have the mobility plan, but also the recreation (...) We are also analyzing a vehicle acquisition plan,” he said.
