The Bolivarian Government of Monagas began the rehabilitation of the Misión Sonrisa headquarters of the Dr. Manuel Núñez Tovar Hospital

The Bolivarian Government, through the Ministry for Health (MPPS), the Barrio Adentro Mission and the Government of Monagas State, began the rehabilitation of the headquarters of the Sonrisa Mission, located in the Las Casitas area of the Dr. Manuel Núñez Tovar University Hospital.

According to information issued by the Government, the rehabilitation works include comprehensive care of 600 square meters and consist of the recovery of luminaires, air conditioning, conditioning of walls, floors and ceilings, tree pruning and afforestation, solid waste collection and provision of new dental equipment.

The regional director of Misión Smiles, Silvia Morao, explained that the consolidation of these spaces will make it possible to treat an average of 1,300 patients per month for oral health free of charge, including the placement of dental prostheses and other dental services.

“This initiative, promoted by the Bolivarian Government through the National Public Health System (SPNS), seeks to improve the population's quality of life by addressing oral problems and offering a better smile,” the Government reported.
