Volunteers, environmental movements, environmentalists and officials of the Ministry of People's Power for Ecosocialism and their affiliated entities, carried out a day of sanitation and cleaning, managing to remove more than 25 tons of solid waste from marine and river coasts.

In La Guaira, with the presence of the Deputy Minister of Integral Waste Management of the Ministry of Ecosocialism, María Bracamonte, the day was held at Vasito Beach, Playa Verde, Caleta, San Luis, Los Niños Bay, Escondida Beach, Botanical Garden, Naiguatá, Anare and La Zorra Bay, among others, in which 10,201 kilograms (kg) were collected, with the company of the Pariata Soublette, Mare 2 and Mamo Catia la Mar Community Circuits, and more than a thousand people, according to a press release from the Ministry of Ecosocialism.

On the other hand, the Deputy Minister for the Preservation of Life and Biodiversity, Colonel José Pereira, attended the days in the Mirandina entity, in the town of Carenero, with a balance of 430 kg deposited in 10 garbage bags, and in the Brión municipality, there was the mayor Olga Pacheco.

For his part, with the assistance of the governor of the state of Guárico, Donald Donaire, the areas of the Generoso Campilongo Reservoir, located in the Francisco de Miranda municipality, were cleaned.

At Playa Waikiki in Carabobo, the Deputy Minister of Environmental Management Services, Freidys Teresa Carrasquel, attended to participate in the collection of 4,420 kilos of solid waste, in addition to establishing 2,000 specimens of red mangrove.

While in Anzoátegui, 1,908 people collected 3,619.50 kilos from Pepe, Paseo de la Cruz and El Mar beaches, Aldea de Pescadores, Los Boqueticos, Cerro El Morro, Cangrejo, Lido, Los Canales, Playa Mansa, Conoma, Isla de Plata, the system of pools and streams Los 7 Pisos de Guanta and the coastline associated with the Unare-Píritu lagoon system, which includes the beaches of Puerto Píritu, El Hatillo, La Cerca and Boca de Uchire.

In addition, on La Tortuga Island, at the level of Cayo Sombrero, 960.5 kg were collected, while on the banks of the Apure River, in the La Defensa sector, the balance showed 800 kg collected.

In Aragua, sanitation was carried out in El Playón, Ocumare de la Costa de Oro, and with the efforts of more than 150 people, 127 kilos accumulated. Meanwhile, in Playa El Silguero, in the municipality of Mariño, Nueva Esparta, 4,500 kilos of solid waste were removed.

In the same way, at Palmera Macuto beach in the municipality of La Ceiba, 350 kilograms were collected, in addition to bringing environmental awareness messages to those attending the site. Likewise, the cleaning and the awareness-raising talks reached the Bocatoma Spa in San Carlos, Cojedes, as well as on the banks of Caño Mánamo, in the city of Tucupita, Delta Amacuro, where they added a workshop for the development of “Ecoladrillos”.
