This Friday, the grassroots leadership of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) in Caracas participated in a preparatory assembly for the formation of the new Integral Base Bolivarian Committees (CBBI), a structure oriented to collective leadership in decision-making within this political organization.

From Alí Primera Park, in the Sucre parish of the capital, the local responsible for this task, Héctor Rodríguez, recalled that the proposal to create the CBBI was approved by the party's last congress, and “seeks first of all to give a qualitative and organizational leap to the street structure, which until now exists”.

“President Nicolás Maduro is telling us, we are going to reorganize, we are going to create new teams. And he called the team from every street, look at the breadth of this party,” he said together with the political leader of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez.

The vice-president for Broad Alliances and the New Historical Bloc also explained that each committee will be made up of nine members, who will be directly elected by the residents of their community on November 8, 9, 15 and 16, with regulations that were distributed in all communities and that, among other things, highlights that only citizens of each street can participate, “without lines” of public officials, members of the party structure or other person outside the community.

“That leadership is from there, from the street, it's not imported, it's not an official of the mayor's office or the governor's office, it's real leadership,” said the leader.

Rodríguez recalled that “in the difficult times” that the country has been going through, the Chavista grassroots leadership has always “stood up” and the party has adapted its form of organization according to the needs of each conjuncture, so the CBBI “are going to take up street work for this new phase of the Revolution.”

In this regard, he said that these new structures will assume current issues such as the defense of sovereignty, the government plan of the Seven Transformations (7T), as well as the functioning of the communal circuit, the reorganization of the party, the constituent of social movements, communal government, among others.

“All those teams that we are creating, in aggregation, constitute the commands, which is the community level. The UBCHs are going to leave them as they are, and the municipal, state and national directorates are being reorganized, especially in the functioning of their vice-presidencies,” he said.
