Everything is ready for the second edition of the Goat and Sheep Exhibition in the Valles del Tuy, Miranda state, where producers from nine states of the country, such as Lara, Carabobo, Anzoátegui and Bolívar, will exhibit 250 specimens of the highest genetics.

The event, which promotes and exalts local and regional production, will take place from October 23 to 27 at the Simón Bolívar Recreational Complex, located on the Yare-Santa Teresa del Tuy national highway, as part of the 299th anniversary of the festivities of San Francisco de Paula, patron of the Town of Yare.

Regarding the Expoferia, the mayor of the Simón Bolívar municipality, Saúl Yánez, at a press conference, explained that the 250 specimens exceed the livestock sample compared to the previous year, the Último Noticias portal reported.

He stated that there will be more than 25 stands so that producers can showcase their products. This second Expoferia will also have the participation of entrepreneurs, “the best chefs who use products from these sectors as inputs”.

He estimated that the activity will generate revenues of more than 200,000 euros, mainly due to the commercialization of highly genetic specimens. “This fair, although it has a symbolic entry cost that gives you the opportunity for a prize, will be reproduced five to 10 times more in profitability,” he said, referring to the high price of animals.

He explained that the logistical and security deployment for the fair has transcended its regional character to a national event, as more than 20,000 visitors are expected to attend over the five days.

“We expect nearly 5,000 people to circulate daily. Robust security has been articulated,” he said, stressing that a security operation will be organized with 350 officials from the Municipal Police; Bolivarian National Police (PNB) and Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) and Civil Protection, in addition to the support of the G/D of the Miranda Integral Defense Operational Zone (ZODI), Carlos Eduardo Aigster Villamizar.

Regarding logistics, Yánez pointed out that a parking lot with capacity for 1,500 vehicles was set up and coordinated with the management of the Venezuelan Petroleum Service Station (PDVSA) to ensure the supply of fuel to tourists and producers.

He pointed out that links are being made with transport lines to facilitate the transfer of visitors from the Bolivar squares of the different municipalities of yours.

To boost investment, the mayor commented that the municipality legislates for commercial gastronomy establishments to incorporate those derived from lamb, goat and their derivatives in their menus, following the guidance of the National Government.

“In addition, small entrepreneurs who wish to invest in the municipality will be offered a grace period of one year without paying municipal taxes,” he said.

For his part, the president of the Expoferia, Alexis Oropeza, extended a cordial invitation to the public to visit the event to appreciate genetic progress and the quality of national production, highlighting the judging competition that will award the best specimens with more than 300 awards in eleven breeds.

The Expoferia will offer a training component with talks and workshops by experts in agriculture and breeding for producers. It will also include animal competitions, major milking championships, and genetic and phenotype judgments.

The president of the Miranda Sheep and Goat Association (ASOVICAMI), Yesenia Lucena, invited producers to take advantage of the Expoferia as a large showcase to show the best of their farms.

The program will include gastronomic, scientific, genetic, technological, cultural and entertainment activities such as the Cantares del Tuy Festival for the Plain, in which 120 children from nine states will participate, and the stellar performance of the Billo's Caracas Boys orchestra.
