The Venezuelan karate club Marena Juncosa won the silver medal in the -68 kilograms at the II Junior Pan American Games in Asunción, Paraguay.

In the urban sports gym of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee, Juncosa rose to second place on the podium after falling in the final match against Puerto Rican Elysia Hernández 5-2.

Before that fight, Juncosa won all his commitments. In the first one, she beat Mexico's Ana Muñoz 8-4, then she defeated Ecuador's Amy López 7-7 by senshu, and she also left Chile's Alen Hernández on the road 11-1.

In the semifinals, Brazil's Roberta López scored 5-1.

The bronze medal went to Mexico's Muñoz and Brazil's Lopes.

Venezuelan karate is still in action this Friday with Karinne Tirado (-61 kg) and Jesús Castro (-75 kg).
