The capital's authorities accompanied the town this Wednesday, October 1st, in El Grito de la Navidad, which kicks off the Christmas festivities in Caracas, which were announced by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, who announced the advance of Christmas in the country, a time of faith and family union, despite attacks and threats against Venezuela.
The activity, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, took place in Plaza El Venezolano, where the people gathered with joy and enthusiasm.
In this scenario, the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Meléndez, stressed that “we are a people of peace, of cultural manifestations (...) here we go with joy, and from here we go to Plaza Bolívar. Christmas began in Caracas.”
“Christmas is your family union, it's happiness, joy, love, spiritual peace and the birth of our Child God,” he said.
In addition, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Popular Power for Communication and Information, the Sectorial Vice President of Communication and Culture, Freddy Ñáñez, led the act of turning on lights on the occasion of the arrival of Christmas, in an atmosphere full of hope, color and festive spirit.
Ñáñez said that Venezuela has been the subject of multiple aggressions in the economic, psychological and political spheres, with the purpose of humiliating the people and taking away their brightness and joy.
He emphasized that these attempts have failed and will continue to fail, because the Venezuelan people are profoundly noble, resilient and full of light.
