The Institute of Image and Space Arts (IARTES) reported that the Museum of Fine Arts (MBA), in Caracas, will host the “First Meeting of Emerging Art” in the capital city and the Bolivarian state of Miranda, as part of the VI International Biennial of the South, Peoples in Resistance, which this year is being held under the motto “The Power of Diversity” .

According to information from Venezolana de Televisión, this event emerges as a direct response to the needs and proposals emanating from the National Congress of Arts, Image and Space, a space for dialogue and permanent reflection for the Venezuelan artistic sector.

Its primary objective is to provide a platform for the review, monitoring and research of the technical-conceptual training processes that young Venezuelan artists have been developing through their workshops, training centers and individual experiences. It will be an invaluable opportunity to make emerging talent visible and understand the current dynamics of creation.

The meeting includes two categories: artistic proposal (free theme) and critical essay (framed in the visual arts). Visual proposals must be presented in an optimal state of conservation, ready for exhibition and duly identified. It is essential that the works do not pose any risk to the institution that hosts them or to the other pieces on display.

Critical tests must have a minimum length of four (4) and a maximum of six (6) pages. Only unpublished works will be accepted, that is, those that have not been previously exhibited in physical or virtual exhibitions or published on social networks.

Young people between the ages of 18 and 35 may participate, individually or collectively, who reside in the Capital District and the state of Miranda. Interested parties should submit the spreadsheets and projects via email: [email protected]. The necessary formats are available by scanning the QR code of the official call.
