The National Health System expands its deployment in Barinas to serve communities affected by the rains

Staff from the National Public Health System (SPNS) intensified their presence in the municipality of Sosa in the state of Barinas, to provide more than 2,000 medical care to families affected by the recent rains that have impacted the region.
According to a press release from the Health portfolio, since July 12, a multidisciplinary team made up of doctors, nurses, epidemiologists, environmental health personnel and the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI), have been mobilized by land, water and air routes to reach flooded communities such as Ciudad de Otters and Puerto Nutrias.
In addition to immediate medical care, the distribution of essential medicines, supplies and food to affected communities has been prioritized. Work has also been done to adapt temporary shelters to guarantee decent conditions for the displaced.
