This Tuesday, June 17, the process began for the country's different political organizations to formalize the nomination of their candidates for the elections on July 27, said the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Elvis Amoroso.
During statements offered, the president of the Electoral Power indicated that this action is included in the established schedule for the execution of the upcoming elections, where mayors and councilors will be elected.
In this regard, he recalled that for these votes, 2,806 positions will be elected, distributed among: 335 mayors; 2,471 councilors and 79 councilors for indigenous peoples.
“The application process will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of article 59 of the Organic Law on Electoral Processes. The Electoral Power is the only body empowered by the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to organize, for the administration, direction and surveillance of all acts related to the election of positions of popular representation in the Public Powers, as well as referendums,” he emphasized.
In addition, Amoroso recalled that on July 27, the Popular Consultation for Youth will also be held, where projects will be defined to be implemented by the communities.
In addition, he explained that this new process will help the Venezuelan people to reaffirm their commitment to democracy and peace in the country.
It is important to note that this Tuesday opposition parties went to the CNE to register their flag bearers for the upcoming municipal elections.
