In the state of Monagas, the formation of more than a thousand justices of the peace began, elected by popular vote last December, in compliance with article 20 of the Organic Law on Communal Justice of Peace.
The objective of the training is to train judges and justices of the peace to perform their functions well within the community and to promote justice that is increasingly accessible and effective.
In the auditorium of the entity's Socialist Legislative Council, staff from the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) and the National School of the Judiciary (ENM) accompanied the formation of more than 100 communal judges and justices of the peace from San Simón parish, Maturín municipality.
The rector judge of the region, Gladiana Cedeño, welcomed the training of judges and emphasized the commitment of each one as mediators in the resolution of conflicts and stressed the obligation to attend the training plan to take office.
Cedeño said that participants will receive their certification at the end of the training process, which will allow them to assume their responsibilities in the communities with full capacity.
The training includes workshops, talks and practical activities on fundamental topics such as ethics, mediation in conflict resolution and human rights. After training, justices of the peace will be accredited. This first phase of training in the eastern entity was carried out simultaneously in all 13 municipalities.
