The La Fuga Project Movement carried out a bike ride, called “Rodar Por por la Libertad” of Venezuelans kidnapped in El Salvador, from the Coche parish of the Libertador municipality of Caracas, to Plaza Bolívar in Caracas, in order to support kidnapped Venezuelan migrants, deported by the United States Government and transferred to a maximum security prison in El Salvador, which constitutes a violation of human rights.
This round began at kilometer seven of the Pan-American Highway, with a route of approximately 20 kilometers, until it reached Plaza Bolívar in the capital city, where more than 100 people participated.
In this regard, the executive director of the La Fuga Project, Eder Blanco, stated that this sporting activity was carried out within the framework of the struggle of the Venezuelan brothers kidnapped in the Central American country. “Cycling is an expression for the freedom of compatriots whose rights have been violated because they have a tattoo on their bodies or possessing a Venezuelan identity.”
Blanco recalled that migration occurred as part of a media campaign that began in 2015 to motivate young people to leave the country for a supposedly better future, a matrix that later focused on labeling and linking Venezuelan migrants with the extinct criminal gang of the Aragua Train.
For his part, the general director of La Fuga Bike Park, Eliud Baudin, said that it was “an initiative to show that Venezuelans have empathy about what is happening to our compatriots, because today it may be happening to them, but maybe tomorrow it could happen to a family member of us.”
