La Guaira is preparing to celebrate, on January 6th, the Day of the Three Kings with the emblematic Parade, a tradition that has been going on for 66 years and that fills the streets of the entity with joy and fervor.
At a meeting led by Governor José Alejandro Terán, representatives of seven associations from different parishes, such as Macuto, El Cojo-El Cable Car, Naiguatá, Caraballeda and Catia la Mar, together with the Pepe Cabrera Foundation, the main promoter of this cultural event, refined the details of this historic celebration.
This tradition, declared an asset of national heritage interest by the Ministry of Culture in 2022, began in 1958 as a celebration among friends and neighbors of La Guaira. It was promoted by figures such as Juan Manuel Liz, José Isabel Castro, Rafael Rendón and José Hilario Cabrera Salas, who over time consolidated the Pepe Cabrera Foundation. Since then, the Parade of the Three Wise Men of La Guaira and the Guiding Star have become emblems of the region and represent hope and joy.
It is expected that this year the day will begin with a thanksgiving mass at the El Carmen Hermitage in La Guaira, with the participation of the brotherhoods of the different parishes. Later, the Three Wise Men will take the traditional tour of the Peripheral Hospitals of Pariata, José María Vargas de La Guaira and Maternal and Child Care in Macuto, as well as the Patria Niña and Doña Nieves Elena Blanco shelter houses in Rivero.
Then, at the official lunch at the historic Casa Guipuzkoana together with the Governor and the Mayor, the parade will start from La Cabrería and culminate in the Cinta Costera 13 de Abril. There, hundreds of families will come together to celebrate this special day in an environment full of music, color and joy.
The Three Kings Parade in La Guaira is not only a cultural event, but also a tradition that renews the faith of thousands of Guaireños. This event, which illuminates the streets of the state year after year, invites everyone to be part of a tradition that is still alive in the hearts of its people.
