Three finalists are competing for the LVBP 2024-2025 “Rookie of the Year” award

The Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) announced the three finalists who are choosing to win the “Rookie of the Year” award in the 2024-25 season.

Under the title, “The Greats of Baseball”, the LVBP presented Luisangel Acuña, José Fernández and Luis Castro, as the three contenders for the first prize of the Creole season.

The Cardenales de Lara player, Luisangel Acuña, made his home run debut in the LVBP on November 12. He averaged .337 with 26 runs scored, 17 RBIs, three home runs, and 18 stolen bases in 29 games.

For his part, José Fernández de Caribes de Anzoátegui, obtained an average of .308, with six home runs, 14 doubles, 30 RBIs and 25 scored.

Finally, Luis Matos de Tiburones de La Guaira, was the leader in the doubles group, 20 extra bases, 10 home runs, 34 RBIs, 41 scores and an average of .300, after 55 games with the squad. The Rookie of the Year award will be presented next Monday, January 06, 2025.
