Through the social network Instagram, the Government of the state of La Guaira reported that a group of tourists from Poland visited the renovated Paseo de Macuto for the first time.
He also highlighted that these actions are part of the joint work with the Ministry of Popular Power for Tourism (MINTUR) and the international tour operator Hovers Tour to internationalize this route.
On August 22, President Nicolás Maduro posed the challenge of restoring Paseo de Macuto within three months. Local authorities, such as Governor José Alejandro Terán and Mayor José Manuel Suárez, accepted the challenge and achieved rehabilitation that has exceeded expectations.
The work covered 700 meters of boulevard, the renovation of four squares and the restoration of more than 100 façades in the surrounding area; the emblematic fountains of El Niño y el Delfín and Santa Ana were restored by experts in cultural heritage, while the façade of the Hotel Colonial de Macuto, an icon of the promenade, was rehabilitated by taking care of the architectural details of the 19th century. In addition, the plumbing and electrical wiring systems in public spaces were renewed, according to a Venezuelan Television report.
