On the Malecón de Puerto Cabello in Carabobo state, the traditional Sea Blessing Mass was held, which celebrates 163 years.

Dozens of parishioners attended the Sea Blessing Mass, a tradition that is now 163 years old, to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus and bless the waters of the coasts, as well as the men and women who work the sea.

It is considered the oldest religious tradition celebrated in the country every Easter Sunday.

The governor of the state of Carabobo, Rafael Lacava, who was present at the activity, asserted that it is one of the most beautiful traditions in the region, where fishermen, fisherwomen and sea workers, gather to receive the blessing.

“We came together to participate in this beautiful mass that was filled with faith, hope, joy, for our traditions, and for all the positive things that our Lord Jesus Christ has given us,” Lacava said.
