The Institute of Culture and the Arts of Trujillo State (INCAET) inaugurated the “Aura Salas Pisani” library at the headquarters of the “Laudelino Mejías” School of Music, located in the Las Acacias sector of Valera; the new space is incorporated into a cultural nucleus that also houses the “Gladys Mota” School of Ballet and Dance and the chair of drawing, with the purpose of strengthening artistic training in children, young people and adults.
The ceremony was attended by the sole authority of Culture, Temístocles Cabezas Morales; the general director of INCAET, Angélica D'Santiago; the operational director of the Trujillo Chapter Cultural Office, César Delgado; and the chronicler of the municipality, Benigno Contreras.
The library was inaugurated for the birth of Aura Salas Pisani, born in Valera on October 14, 1925. His legacy in the educational and artistic fields motivated the creation of this space, which seeks to preserve his memory and project his influence on the new generations of the region.
The cultural center where the library is located works as a meeting point for various disciplines, with an emphasis on music, dance and plastic arts. The integration of these components makes it possible to consolidate a wide, accessible training offer linked to the community context.
