The Donald Trump administration submitted to the Supreme Court of the United States (USA) an emergency appeal to revoke the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) of approximately 300,000 Venezuelans, a measure aimed at facilitating their deportation, which is part of the Republican magnate's criminal immigration policies.

Through a document, the Department of Justice (DoJ) asked the magistrates to suspend the order of federal judge Edward Chen, who stopped the decision of the Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, to revoke the TPS granted to some Venezuelans during the Joe Biden administration.

The DoJ argues that the TPS for Venezuela is against the “national interest” of the North American country and that the Judiciary does not have the power to decide issues of immigration policy.

Last January, the Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, recommended the termination of TPS for more than 600,000 Venezuelans who remain in U.S. territory legally.
