Twelve cardiological patients from Falcón state received pacemaker implants free of charge, the Ministry of Health said in a press release.
The surgical interventions were performed as part of the 22nd anniversary of the Regional Cardiovascular Center of the Dr. Alfredo Van Grieken University Hospital in Coro, demonstrating the capacity of the Public Health System to treat complex pathologies despite adversities.
With the deployment of these 12 devices, the number of 100 pacemakers placed free of charge in the region has been surpassed.
It is important to note that the cost of a pacemaker in the private sector can range from 5 thousand to 7 thousand dollars.
