Under the slogan “Place of Stay”, the 19th World Poetry Festival was inaugurated in Caracas

This Monday, July 13, in the José
Félix Ribas Hall of the Teresa Carreño Theater, in the city of Caracas, the
19th World Poetry Festival 2025 was inaugurated, under the motto “Place of permanence”.
According to information from Venezolana
de Televisión, this activity, which will take place until July 20, pays
homage to the poet Belén Ojeda, and will also raise her voice for the Palestinian people.
In this regard, the poet from Ecuador,
Agustín Guambo, expressed his satisfaction and gratitude to be able to participate in this important cultural
event. At the same time, he shared with the audience his
poem called “Indigenous Scar”.
In the same way, the Venezuelan poet, Yuri
Patiño, said that at this event, through words, the
voice will be raised for humanity against the genocide being carried out in Gaza and Palestine.
Likewise, poets from Libya, India,
Senegal, Vietnam and other parts of the world shared their poems on this
first day of the festival.
In this edition, the event has the participation of more than 40 poets from four continents: America, Africa, Asia and Europe, as well as nine poets from Palestine, and more than 150 national poets. In addition, these artists of the word will be deployed throughout the country, in order to carry out activities such as recitals, book presentations and annotated readings, academic discussions and forums, poetic training workshops, among others.
