Valentina Gómez and Cristian Requena win two silver medals for Venezuela in the Chile 2025 Youth Parapan American Games
At the Aquatic Center of the Estadio Central Park, Gómez climbed to second place on the podium in the 200-meter freestyle class S14 with a time of 2:49.71, second only to the Colombian Gabriela Oviedo, who scored 2:41.61. While the third place went to Javiera Méndez from Chile with 2:58.51.
In the men's division, Cristian Requena excelled in the 100 meters freestyle, class S10, recording a time of 58.97 seconds to give Venezuela the silver medal.
The Peruvian Isaías Sono (class S39) won the gold one with a time of 1:43.82 and the Chilean Marthin Saavedra took the bronze one after completing the test with a time of 1:03.15.
Venezuela has two more days left in the parade in which Crismar Rozo, Nelimar Arcila, Angelina Soto, Mariangela Lizcano, Stefany Yliales, Yoice Henrique, and Xavier Díaz will compete, in addition to Gómez and Requena.
