Venezuela and Algeria sign 14 cooperation agreements in the Fifth Joint Commission

A total of 14 signed agreements resulted from the V Venezuela-Algeria Joint Commission, held in Algiers, between July 3 and 4.

The signed documents relate to the sectors of agriculture, tourism, housing and urban planning, university education, scientific research, vocational training and culture, press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela.

During the closing ceremony, the co-president of the Commission for the Venezuelan side and Minister of Popular Power for Productive Agriculture and Lands, Julio León Heredia, specified that it has the interest of seeking the greatest possible amount of happiness for both peoples.

He also stressed that in the midst of a global landscape in which the war on tariffs seeks to dominate the economy, “countries with self-determination can build our own path of work, our own approach.”

He said that the agreements reached “reflect the political and fraternal dialogue between our Governments and are the direct result of the strategic vision of our presidents.” In addition, León Heredia said that today “we demonstrate that peoples' diplomacy builds bridges”.

For his part, the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries of Algeria, Youcef Cherfa, assured that the results of this Joint Commission reflect the work and will of both nations to strengthen relations and highlighted the “level of cooperation that these countries have achieved, despite the distance”.

“We share our vision on multiple international issues,” he stressed and invited the representatives of the parties to complete the legal deployment in programs and projects to promote relations.

The Deputy Minister for Africa of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Yuri Pimentel, welcomed the preparation of this session, which “has led us to the expansion and diversification of the areas available for cooperation and exchanges in order to strengthen our fraternal relations”.

The activity was attended by the ministers of Ecosocialism and National Trade, Ricardo Molina and Luis Villegas, respectively; in addition to the president of the National Institute for Socialist Training and Education (INCES), Wuikelman Ángel Paredes, and representatives of the competent institutions in the areas addressed.
