The Deputy Minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Tatiana Pugh Moreno, held a meeting this Monday with Professor Wu Baiyi, former director of the Institute for Latin American Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS - ILAS), who is visiting Venezuela to hold meetings with representatives of the Latin American Economic System (SELA) and carry out field studies in the South American country.
Regarding his visit to the nation, the Chinese academic indicated that he found that the matrices of opinion about Venezuela were false and that, on the contrary, he found a country that was safer and more oriented towards development.
At the cordial meeting, Baiyi explained the scope of CASS-ILAS as an advisory think tank for the Chinese Government. He emphasized the importance of creating such institutes in Venezuela, stating his willingness to contribute to the expansion of academic cooperation and thought centers between China and Venezuela.
Both sides agreed that thought centers in Latin America currently have a right-wing orientation, which is why it is necessary to create independent and sovereign study centers.
The Asian professor indicated that academic cooperation and thought centers can be two-way, where the Venezuelan side learns more about China and the Asian continent, and the Chinese side can learn more about the truth of Venezuela.
