The Minister of People's Power for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, reported that she held a meeting with the ambassador of the People's Republic of China, Lan Hu, to address issues of interest and reinforce the cooperation agenda in science, technology and artificial intelligence.

Through his account on the social network Telegram, he specified that at this meeting “we talked about Venezuela's participation in the Convention for the Establishment of the World Organization for AI Cooperation, and we received, from Ambassador Lan Hu, a proposal for the creation of the World Organization for Cooperation in Artificial Intelligence, which will initially have more than 20 countries”.

He also highlighted that during the meeting they discussed Venezuela's participation in the third Seminar on Building Artificial Intelligence Capabilities, which will take place in the city of Shanghai, between October 10 and 25.

He also explained that “to strengthen our cooperation agenda in educational matters, we are making progress in the establishment of new headquarters of the Confucius Institute, and we are making available the headquarters of the Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán National University of Sciences, to be part of this project.”

Jiménez invited researchers and scientists from the People's Republic of China to participate in the activities commemorating the 18th Anniversary of the Bolivarian Agency for Space Activities (ABAE), which will be held next October.

“We thank China for its strong support for peace and sovereignty in the region, in the face of military aggressions provoked by the United States government in the Caribbean that seek to undermine stability on the continent,” he said.
