The Minister of the People's Power of Foreign Trade, Coromoto Godoy, met with the Ambassador of India, Ashok Babu, together with the president of Bancoex, Guillermo Lara. At the meeting, they reviewed progress on trade issues between Venezuela and India, the founding nation of the BRICS and a key player in the global economy and geopolitics.

The information was released by the minister through her Instagram account, where she noted that both nations highlighted the importance of strengthening alliances for a multilateral trading system, in line with policies of integral development and mutual benefit.

Venezuela and India have more than 60 years of bilateral relations, which have been strengthened thanks to the commercial integration policies promoted by the Bolivarian Revolution, which have allowed the establishment of cooperative ties in energy matters, in the areas of health, agriculture, air transport and culture.

It is important to highlight that at the beginning of 2025 both nations signed a digital cooperation agreement with the objective of strengthening technological development in key sectors such as health, education and government management.

The agreement was announced by the Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, during her official visit to India. This strategic alliance was formalized between the Ministry of People's Power for Science and Technology of Venezuela and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India.
