Venezuela and Indonesia strengthen relations in the IV Bilateral Joint Commission

The Deputy Minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania, Tatiana Pugh, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, Fikry Cassidy, held a meeting in Caracas with the objective of discussing issues of the bilateral relationship, as well as current aspects of both nations.
The authorities follow the recent presentation of Credentials by the Asian diplomat to the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, who highlighted the importance of strengthening South-South cooperation in the various areas related to politics, economy, social and cultural.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister Tatiana Pugh and the Indonesian ambassador highlighted the importance of holding the Fourth Bilateral Joint Commission between the two nations, with this initiative to promote strategic areas between the two countries, the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry said.
Diplomatic relations between Venezuela and Indonesia were established on October 9, 1959 and since then, they have been strengthened in all areas, taking into account the importance of this country as the headquarters of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and its recent entry into the BRICS block.
