The foreign minister, Yván Gil, held a bilateral meeting this Tuesday with the Secretary General of the Mozambique Liberation Front (FRELIMO), Chakil Aboobacar, in order to strengthen ties of solidarity and review bilateral agreements with the African nation.

“On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, we had the honor of receiving Chakil Aboobacar, Secretary General of the Mozambique Liberation Front (FRELIMO), together with his distinguished delegation during their visit to our country to reaffirm the bonds of friendship that unite Venezuela and Mozambique, established in 2005, thanks to the legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez and his tireless struggle for the unity of our Caribbean and African peoples,” wrote the Foreign Minister, through his Telegram channel.

He also congratulated the people of Mozambique “for the recent celebration of their 50th anniversary of independence, a milestone achieved after decades of resistance against Portuguese colonial rule.”
