The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, reported that he had a telephone conversation with his South African counterpart, Ronald Lamola, in which both governments reaffirmed their bilateral ties and their commitment to the countries of the Global South.

Through his Telegram channel, Gil indicated that he addressed the situation in Latin America and the Caribbean in the face of the deployment of U.S. military personnel, including nuclear weapons, which represent a threat to regional peace. Both ministers agreed on the need to preserve stability and reject any form of threat.

They also condemned the genocide in Palestine and any escalation of tensions that undermine the right to self-determination.

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister thanked South Africa for its support to Venezuela and, on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, expressed his support for President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Finally, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to multilateralism and rejected aggression and baseless accusations against their respective countries.
