Venezuela, Brazil and Cuba promote Latin American unity in Kazakhstan

The Venezuelan ambassador to Kazakhstan, Rosalba Lo Bue Antico, met this Monday with her counterparts from Brazil, Marcel Fortuna Biato, and from Cuba, Oscar Santana León, in order to build a joint agenda to promote Latin American unity in this Central Asian country.

At the meeting, which took place at the headquarters of the Venezuelan Embassy in Astana, the Head of Mission highlighted the importance of carrying out an agenda on diplomacy and Latin American culture within the framework of regional integration mechanisms, such as CELAC and ALBA-TCP; in addition to disseminating the culture of the three countries that have accredited diplomatic missions in Kazakhstan.

Ambassador Santana proposed the holding of the first Latin American Film Festival at the Diplomatic Library of the city of Astana, together with a photographic exhibition on the natural and tourist wealth of the three countries.

For his part, Ambassador Fortuna Beato commented on the importance of the BRICS+ Summit being held this year in Brazil and this allows for the interest of the Central Asian region, especially after the incorporation of Cuba, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan into the mechanism, so he proposed to develop a series of conferences at Kazakh universities to provide more information on the potential for cooperation with Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Brazilian diplomat commented that it is also important to add commercial diplomacy.

Also, the joint work plan will include the creation of cultural clubs with schools that allow the promotion of Spanish and Portuguese languages, dance, singing and other cultural events, and the implementation of Latin America's Week in this and other academic and cultural spaces.

Ambassador Lo Bue Antico suggested the possibility of creating a Latin America-Central Asia Business Forum, initially involving Brazil, Cuba and Venezuela.
