The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela condemned Israel's aggression against Iran and demanded the immediate re-establishment of international law.
Through an official statement, Venezuela supports the defense
actions taken by the Islamic Republic of Iran and the pronouncements of the People's
Republic of China and the Russian Federation, which warn “that the international
community has an urgent responsibility to act with unity and
determination to curb irresponsible threats, protect peace and
restore international legality.”
Below is the
full text of the statement:
The Bolivarian Republic
of Venezuela expresses its strongest condemnation of the recent attacks by the Israeli regime
against the sovereign territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in
particular against nuclear installations for peaceful purposes, in flagrant violation of International Law and
the principles governing the Charter of the United Nations.
Unjustified aggression
against strategic installations subject to international safeguards
poses a real threat to regional stability and sets an
extremely dangerous precedent that could trigger a catastrophe with a global impact.
Venezuela supports statements made by the People's Republic of China and the Russian Federation, and warns that the international community has an urgent responsibility to act with unity and determination to stop irresponsible threats, protect peace and restore international legality.
Faced with the growing risk of a major crisis, Venezuela calls on all States that are committed to diplomacy and stability to mobilize for a peaceful solution, respectful of the sovereignty of nations and the principle of non-intervention.
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela fully supports the actions taken by the Islamic Republic of Iran in defense of its sovereignty, its territorial integrity and the security of its people, in the legitimate exercise of the principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations.
Venezuela reaffirms its
conviction that only multilateralism, respect for international law
and international cooperation will prevent destructive escalation and
guarantee lasting peace for the peoples of Western Asia and the world.
