The sectoral vice-president for Politics, Public Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, denounced that Venezuela is the victim of a plot by sectors of the extreme right and the United States Government for its fight against drug trafficking.

“It's a plot against Venezuela, it's an attack against our country,” Cabello emphasized from the House of Representatives of the National Assembly (AN).

He stressed that the United Nations (UN), in its report this year, indicated that Venezuela is a territory free of cultivation and drug processing.

“Why are they accusing us? Why does imperialism talk about posters in Venezuela if they are not planted here, they are not processed and we are not a route and only according to the report (of the UN) it talks about the 5% they try to get out here and what we give it is stick every time they come out,” he said.

He stressed that, in the report presented by the UN, 87% of drug production is transported through the Pacific and the countries that leave through this area are Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, among others.

He recalled that Venezuela this year, to date, has seized more than 51 kilograms of drugs from Colombia, while announcing that other arrests linked to drug trafficking will soon be unveiled.

“Right now, at this very moment, helicopters from our Bolivarian National Armed Forces are coming out to meet some people somewhere in Venezuela, who believe that no one was seeing them, and we were seeing them with drugs,” he said.
