The Deputy Minister for the Caribbean of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Raúl Li Causi, during his speech at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, held in New York, denounced that areas such as trade, transportation, food security, risk management, among sectors, could be affected by the hostile policy promoted by the United States against the Caribbean Sea and the Zone of Peace.
“We must warn with great concern that these areas are being directly threatened by the presence of United States nuclear submarine vessels in our Caribbean Sea, which constitutes a violation of the principles of international law, the United Nations Charter, in addition to contradicting the proclamation of our region as a Zone of Peace . and the spirit of the Treaty of Tlatelolco, which declared it free of nuclear weapons,” he emphasized.
He also assured that there is
a growing tension that will have a negative impact on the tourism sector, while
condemning the aggressions of the North American government and reiterating that the Venezuelan people
“are fully prepared to face psychologically and on the
ground any action caused by the empire.”
