The V Venezuelan Brigade for Solidarity with the Saharawi People provided donations of backpacks, tools and soccer balls to refugee children and young people in Tindouf, Algeria, according to the website of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs (MPPE).

The delivery took place during the meeting with a representative of the Ministry of Education, Teaching and Vocational Training of the Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic (RASD), regarding the development of different activities led by the Venezuelan Brigade.

The Venezuelan special envoy, Professor Luis Aparicio, conveyed his congratulations and recognition to the RASD, for having achieved one of the objectives of Agenda 2063 of the African Union in the midst of adversity.

Aparicio added that Venezuela is a country that admires the educational processes in the RASD and reaffirmed that Caracas wishes to explore ways of exchanging experiences to what he called “the pedagogy of resistance” of a people determined to be free.

The secretary general of that portfolio of the African nation, Mustafa Mohamed Fadi, confirmed that training and teaching are the only paths to the liberation of his people from oppression.

The Saharawi people, despite having registered half a century of struggle for their independence, enjoy free and inclusive education, which contributed to the fact that the refugee camps in Tindouf were declared in 2024 as territories free of illiteracy.

The education system in this region, located in eastern Algeria, is compulsory and ranges from the initial stage to the secondary stage.

The students also have vocational training centers and several training areas at the University of Tifariti.
