In the framework of the 56th Cairo International Book Fair, the Minister of Popular Power for Culture, Ernesto Villegas, ratified the solidarity of the Venezuelan people with Palestine.

“I had the honor of greeting the Palestinians who are participating in this fair. Last year we were here and just like a year ago, I express our solidarity with the people of Palestine as well as with the Arab peoples,” said Villegas, according to information published by the Ministry for Culture through its account on the social network Instagram.

Villegas also highlighted the good relations of cooperation and friendship with the host country. “Venezuela and Egypt have a lot to give to the world's balance,” he said.

Venezuela is participating with an important exhibition of its literary production at the Cairo International Book Fair.

The minister was accompanied as part of the Venezuelan delegation present at the literary event, one of the largest in the Middle East, by the Deputy Minister of Development for the Cultural Economy and president of the National Book Center, Raúl Cazal, and the Venezuelan ambassador to Egypt, Wilmer Barrientos. Joining them was the president of the Egyptian Book Entity, Ahmed Bahy Eldin.

It should be noted that as part of his agenda, the Minister of Culture met with his Egyptian counterpart, Ahmed Hanno, to advance cultural cooperation between the two nations and shared his book Maja Mía with a presentation by Mohamed Mursi, professor of Political Science at the University of Cairo.
