In the framework of the VII Meeting of Ministers, Ministers and Senior Tourism Authorities of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), the Minister of Popular Power for Tourism, Leticia Gómez, ratified Venezuela's firm commitment to consolidating strategies that promote tourism development in the region, in alignment with the 2030 Strategic Agenda.
“We resolutely reaffirm our unwavering commitment to achieving the objectives and tasks outlined in the ambitious Strategic Agenda 2030. The consolidation of tourism alliances will make it possible to generate tangible benefits for our local communities, empowering them as protagonists of their own development,” said Gómez.
He also highlighted the importance of language training and user service as strategic areas to strengthen the competitiveness of human capital in the sector.
“The friendly and knowledgeable face that greets our visitors must be kept in constant training, because investing in their training is investing directly in the quality of the tourist experience we offer, creating ambassadors of our culture and hospitality.”
Minister Gómez stressed that regional tourism integration is key to strengthening relations between member countries.
“We have held constructive debates on new proposals to link destinations through innovative strategies that increase routes and connection frequencies between sister countries. The active participation of airlines in evaluating opportunities, generating incentives and facilitating operational procedures are commitments made to make regional connectivity more accessible and efficient,” he said.
He highlighted the role of tourism as an engine of economic growth, an axis of cultural integration and a solid bridge to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood between the peoples of the ALBA-TCP.
“Each of these agreements and tangible advances reflects our deep conviction in the transformative power of tourism. Not only do we promote economic development, but we also promote cultural exchange and unity between our countries.”
