Venezuela thanks world governments for messages commemorating Independence Day

The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, thanked the Governments of the world that sent their messages of solidarity and support to Venezuela on the occasion of the 214th Anniversary of the Day of the Solemn Declaration of Independence.

Through his Telegram channel, Foreign Minister Gil reaffirmed the commitment of the Bolivarian Government to the defense of sovereignty, social justice and Latin American integration.

“On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, we extend our gratitude to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of India, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, for his cordial message of congratulations on the occasion of the celebration of 214 years since the signing of the Act of Independence,” he said, stressing that this date reflects a struggle that began with anti-colonial resistance and that Liberator Simon Bolivar led to emancipation.

He also welcomed the messages from Cuba, Bolivia and Nicaragua. “The Bolivarian Government, representing President Nicolás Maduro, expresses its sincere gratitude to the Foreign Minister of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, for his warm message,” and recognized the solidarity of Bolivian President Luis Arce.Venezuela and Bolivia are still twinned by the freedom and dignity that we share in our Latin America,” he said.
