The Caribbean Professional Baseball Confederation (CBPC) confirmed, at its most recent Assembly of Presidents, the holding of the 68th Caribbean Series in Greater Caracas, Venezuela, in the year 2026.

This will be the sixteenth time that Venezuela has organized the most prestigious competition in Caribbean winter baseball. The Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP), one of the founders of the CBPC, was responsible for the 1951, 1955 and 1959 editions, all held at the University Stadium in Caracas, during the so-called First Stage.

In the Second Stage, Caracas also hosted the tournament in 1970, 1973 and 1977. In 1986, the Caribbean Series moved to Maracaibo; and later, in Puerto La Cruz, the 1994 and 1998 editions were held.

Already in the new millennium, the tournament returned to Caracas in 2002. In 2006, the venue was shared between Maracay and Valencia, while the 2010 and 2014 editions were held on Margarita Island.

For different reasons, Venezuela did not host it again until 2023, when Caracas and La Guaira shared the organization of the event. The impressive Simón Bolívar Monumental Stadium in La Rinconada was the main stage, where a record number of 35,691 fans were registered in the opening match between Venezuela and Panama, according to a press release from the LVBP.
