Venezuela won 16 gold medals in the South American Weightlifting Championship in Ecuador

The Venezuelan delegation completed its participation in the South American Weightlifting Championship, with a harvest of 16 gold, 11 silver and 16 bronze medals.
In the South American Championship that was held at the “César Cordero Moscoso” Coliseum in Guayaquil, Ecuador, in the under-20 category, Venezuela ranked third in the medal table, winning 8 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals, medals won with the participation of three male and two female athletes.
The final table was led by Ecuador with 15 golds, 23 silvers and 3 bronzes (16 athletes), followed by Colombia with 13 gold, 7 silver and 10 bronzes (10 athletes) and third Venezuela, Ministry of Sport press review
For its part, the absolute Creole delegation won 8 gold medals, 7 silver and 13 bronze medals, obtaining second place in the medal table with 8 male and 3 female athletes.
Venezuela ranked behind the representation of Ecuador, which won 17 gold, 18 silver and 8 bronze medals with a total of 16 athletes, and ahead of the Peruvian team, which won 8 golds, 5 silvers and 7 bronzes.
