This Friday, July 11, the deputy to the National Assembly (AN), Tania Díaz, recognized the Venezuelan team The Spartans, which won the gold medal in the junior category of the AI FOR GOOD 2025 contest, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) in Switzerland.
“We congratulate the young winners and I want to send special greetings to the minister of science and technology and vice-president of that area of the country (Gabriela Jiménez), because she has been committed to the development of science and has started from school, from the youngest, this scientific seedbed program,” she said during her program Without Tricks or Maña.
In this regard, he highlighted that the winning team is made up of young people Manuel Makencie (14 years old), David Rosario (14 years old) and Hassan Hammoud (15 years old), who are members of the National Scientific Seedbeds Program, “an initiative promoted by the Ministry of Popular Power for Science and Technology that seeks to promote the development and production of young talent in key areas of science and technology”.
He highlighted that “this achievement in Switzerland adds to Venezuela's outstanding track record in robotics competitions, including the gold medal in the First Global Challenge in Singapore 2023 and a silver medal in the same challenge in Greece 2024.”
