A Venezuelan delegation of scientific hotbeds began its participation in the first International Nanotechnology Olympiad, organized by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Minister for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez, through a post on her Telegram channel, explained that young people face two phases. The first one will take place online and will answer 20 multiple-choice questions about nanotechnology and its environmental applications. The second phase consists of the presentation of an innovative proposal or solution in nanotechnology applied to the environment.

He also explained that the Venezuelan delegation is confirmed by: Paola Planas Hernández (19 years old, Miranda); Juan Martínez Barreto (17 years old, Lara); Isis Camacho Esteves (17 years old, Caracas); Samuel Galbán Franco (16 years old, Zulia); Caridad Guerrero Arbeláez (17 years old, Miranda) and Luis Bermúdez Parra (16 years old, Caracas).

He asserted that the competition brings together students from all over the world, who will demonstrate their knowledge with proposals applied to environmental problems.

“We celebrate the participation of Venezuelan Scientific Institutes in this International Nanotechnology Olympiad, which promotes early vocations to solve global environmental problems, as well as academic cooperation between students from different countries,” added the Minister.
