Researchers at the State Research Center for Experimental Agroindustrial Production (CIEPE) succeeded in developing an efficient method for obtaining pectin, an element commonly used as a thickener and gelling agent in the food industry.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Science and Technology, CIEPE scientists have succeeded in extracting this valuable substance from parchita waste, once again demonstrating the potential of Venezuelan research to transform waste into products with high added value.
This innovative process represents a significant contribution to the country's food sovereignty. By using natural resources efficiently and sustainably, domestic production of processed foods is boosted, reducing dependence on imports and generating new economic opportunities for the agro-industrial sector.
