The research team of the Coordination for the Use of Industrial Waste and By-products of the Zuliano Institute Foundation for Scientific and Technological Research (Inzit) is advancing a project aimed at the ecological treatment of wastewater.

As part of this initiative, researchers have developed a high-efficiency carbonaceous material from biomass, using an environmentally friendly process that promises to transform water treatment.

Gabriel Galbán, one of the researchers, highlighted that this innovative hydrocarbon, made from coffee husk and fistula cane husk, has demonstrated remarkable adsorption capacity.

The team noted that this result marks an important scientific breakthrough, in addition to offering a sustainable and economic alternative to traditional decontamination methods.

With this development, as reported by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MINCYT), the Inzit Foundation is at the forefront of sustainable solutions for wastewater treatment, reaffirming its commitment to innovation and environmental protection.
