Venezuelan youth are being trained in new technologies

This week began at the eight nodes of the Software and Sovereign Development Network (S3), distributed throughout the country, a specialized program aimed at training young people and teachers in cutting-edge technological tools, reported the Sectorial Vice President of Science, Technology, Ecosocialism and Health, Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez.

The Minister for Science and Technology also recalled that these spaces were announced by President Nicolás Maduro during the first anniversary of the Great Mission Science, Technology and Innovation Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán, “marking a historic milestone in Venezuela and on that path we are traveling in the digital transformation of the Homeland.”

Minister Gabriela Jiménez Ramírez explained that the nodes are located in several Territorial Polytechnic Universities and other academic institutions in the country.

Among the venues, the Territorial Polytechnic Universities of Zulia, Mérida, Bolívar and Táchira stand out. The National Experimental Polytechnic University of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Unefa) in the state of Aragua and the National Center for Development and Research in Free Technologies (Cenditel) in Mérida.

In Caracas, the Simon Bolivar University (USB) in Caracas and in Miranda the Venezuelan Hydrocarbons University.

In addition, according to a press release from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Minister Gabriela Jiménez reported that nearly a thousand students are part of the first cohort of the program, focusing on areas such as free technologies, open source software development, backend, frontend, databases, cybersecurity, ethical hacking and artificial intelligence.

He added that this effort is part of the Plan for the Homeland of the 7T, linked to the 13 productive engines of the Bolivarian Economic Agenda.

“We continue to implement the Plan for the Homeland of the 7T, linked to the 13 productive engines of the Bolivarian Economic Agenda, guaranteeing technological sovereignty and the development of solutions aimed at the country's digital transformation,” he stressed.
