The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, led this Saturday the Simulacrum against Disasters and Armed Conflicts at the Republic of Panama Educational Complex, in the state of La Guaira.

During his participation, Rodríguez pointed out that, at the institution, school groups know, identify and learn about the actions to be carried out during catastrophic events or external aggressions.

He stressed that this activity is being carried out in response to President Nicolás Maduro's call to prepare the People for any “emergency situation that may arise, events of natural catastrophe. In this case, we have witnessed a simulation of what an earthquake and a tsunami threat mean here in the state of La Guaira and we have seen how all the Civil Protection agencies, firefighters and auxiliary bodies of the Red Cross are preparing the situations they might witness.”

The senior official recalled that Venezuela is a country that has seismic activity, “it's not to be scared, it's to prepare, where collective responsibility, collective action allows us to understand that dealing with events like this also allows us to have an early warning system, to have risk maps.”
