The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, recognized the fundamental work of the workers of the Venezuelan Institute of Petroleum Technology, Research and Development (INTEVEP), which between 2022 and 2025, managed to register 27 patents with the Autonomous Intellectual Property Service (SAPI), of which nine were issued this year.

On his social media accounts, in an audiovisual, Rodríguez congratulated INTEVEP workers for their valuable contribution to the development of the hydrocarbon industry through national scientific and technological research, even in times of economic sanctions imposed on the country.

“Overcoming the criminal blockade with our own research, science and technology,” he said.

He also highlighted that patents have a positive impact on oil, gas, refining and petrochemical production.

The vice-president reaffirmed that, in national union and under the leadership of President Nicolás Maduro, Venezuela is making progress in consolidating its energy sovereignty. “A sovereignty that is at the service of national progress and the happiness of the Venezuelan people,” he emphasized.

For his part, the director of INTEVEP, Carlos Canelón, stressed that patents guarantee technological sovereignty and guarantee the operability of the hydrocarbon industry.
