Vice President Rodríguez: Today the People's Army is more active than ever to defend the Homeland!

The Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, described as historic the day that takes place this Saturday throughout the country, in which soldiers have left their barracks to the communities to meet the people who are being formed and preparing for the defense of the Fatherland.

“We have seen how our men and women in arms leave the barracks and reach the streets, communities, neighborhoods with the Venezuelan people to prepare them in the different methods of struggle,” he said, stressing that this action is part of Exercise Independence 200, promoted by President Nicolás Maduro, for the comprehensive defense of the nation.

In that sense, he reaffirmed that what we see today in Venezuela is a people on the offensive. “We are forming the true army of the people of Simón Bolívar (...) that army that gave us freedom, is today more active than ever to defend the Homeland, Venezuela and to defend our legitimate right to self-determination, freedom and independence,” he said.

He reaffirmed that today our Homeland shows the world “the People's Army that is here with its utmost conscience; the most important weapon is the awareness that our People have today to defend Venezuela in national union; that no one dares to continue with threats and aggressions because we are prepared to defend peace, tranquility and the right of the Venezuelan People”.

In view of this, he extended his congratulations to the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, which were deployed in the country's 5,336 Community Circuits to prepare the People in the defense of the Homeland. “We have been carrying out a process that definitely protects national independence and sovereignty; that is what we are seeing, a humble people, a simple people, but a giant to defend our country; it is the determination we are seeing and it is an iron will that no one dares to mess with our country”.
