This week, the second Virtual Course for Cancer Registrars began, with the fundamental purpose of strengthening the technical capacities of health personnel at the national level.

A group of 47 applicants, responsible for areas such as medical histories, epidemiology, oncology programs and health statistics, participated in the training activity.

The National Cancer Registry System, according to a press release, is a tool developed by the Bolivarian Government, through the ministries for Science and Technology and for Health, in conjunction with the Sectorial Vice Presidency of Science, Technology, Ecosocialism and Health.

The initiative seeks to turn information into concrete actions that improve the lives of cancer patients in our country, generating quality epidemiological data to guide public policies.

The course is guided by a team of tutors, with the mission of accompanying participants, with an emphasis on data standardization and epidemiological surveillance, always with an eye on coordination with the National Health System.

This training process is coordinated by the Sectorial Vice Presidency and organized by the National Oncology Directorate of the Ministry of Health together with the Pan American Health Organization. The course will be developed in four academic modules until the month of November.
