The Warao El Moriche indigenous community, located in the San Rafael parish of Delta Amacuro state, celebrated the inauguration of an Infocentro room.
This space for digital inclusion consolidates the efforts of the Warao community to guarantee access to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), in addition to achievements in infrastructure such as schools, clinics and housing.
According to a press release, for the inhabitants, the Infocentro will teach children to understand the world, while preserving traditions, dance and language.
This technological space will function as a nerve center for training, research and productivity, offering tools for education, communal organization and productive development to its purely indigenous population.
In addition, it will promote the dissemination of Warao culture and language.
The El Moriche community was founded in 1974 and characterized by its organization and resistance.
